The Duncan McKenzie Band

Print

Guitarist, singer, songwriter, Duncan McKenzie has been described as one of the finest acoustic guitarists on the circuit today. For some years he played in a duo with guitar legend Big Jim Sullivan and more recently went on to pursue his career as a solo performer. He also has his own band consisting of internationally acclaimed musicians.

In former years Duncan made a name as a versatile session musician playing in major studios including the famous Abbey Road. He secured a major recording deal with EMI and went on to write for radio, television and films including the Song "To All Of You Out There" taken on by Radio Luxembourg to close the show every night for eight years! He has been featured worldwide on various radio shows.

Mckenzie plays major festivals, concerts and theatres throughout Europe, sharing the stage with some of the greatest names in the business, receiving rave reviews. Duncan's first album "New Life" has been very popular and more recently he has completed his new album "Ordinary Man". Both albums consist of original tracks, songs and instrumentals, written by Duncan. A new album of original guitar music "Heartstrings" is about to be released.

"Duncan can perform miracles with the guitar creating a visual as well as aural feast". Jack Garwood, Spire.

"McKenzie played his ten minute long powerful instrumental, Third Millennium, that simply took  your breath away. To witness Third Millennium was worth the ticket price alone. The spectrum of sounds that McKenzie made with every possible part of his acoustic guitar would probably be the highlight of any concert". Greg Lewrey, Maverick Magazine.
